Hal Holbrook died on January 23. 2021 at the age of 95. Mr. Holbrook was an exceptional actor most noteably known for his portrayal of Mark Twain. Mark Daniel Wilkinson who portrays Mark Twain in 2 Marks Productions of “The Way of Twain” stated “I could not have done The Way of Twain without Mr. Holbrooks influence, I am always reminded of Mr. Holbrooks interpretation and rightly so. He blazed the trail for one man shows in his Mark Twain impersonation and there were a lot of mimics and copycats. My “Twain” is more on the performing side of Mark Twain mingled with Twain’s pokes at life , man, politics and such. But, it would be a lie if I were to say Mr. Holbrook didn’t influence me as an actor and on the show. I don’t know if he watched my show, I hope so, and if he did, I hope he liked my rendition. I wish his loved ones peace and I hope they can find comfort in knowing that Mr. Holbrook brought a lot of joy to many peoples lives , including mine”.
